Great classes for kids 18months to Pre-K

Friday, October 16th, 2009

Wee Circus & Pre Circus Kids

Wee Circus

Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings at 11am we have some of the cutest kids coming for the Wee Circus Kids class.  This class is for 18mo – 2 year olds with parent participation.  The kids are loving the obstacle course and swinging in the tissue.  Some have even stood on the trapeze with the biggest smile on their faces.

On Friday afternoons at the 4pm Pre Circus Kids class the kids are older (3 – Pre-K) and more independent and can coordinate more challenging tricks.  They don’t know they are working hard but they are.  The kids are too busy laughing and jumping and running around to realize their somersaults are getting straighter, they are climbing higher and the obstacle course is bigger.  No class is complete without a visit to Oscar’s Corner for art time or temporary tattoos.  The Friday 4pm class has room for two additional kids.

We’d like to see these classes grow at the 9am sessions on Saturdays and the 4pm sessions on Mondays.  You can help us — if you organize five or more kids to enroll in this class (or other Children’s classes) we will reward YOU with your NEXT 10 CLASSES FREE.

Personal Fitness Training with Liam ‘TAKU’ Bauer

Friday, October 16th, 2009

Liam BauerWe have heard your requests for a diverse selection of fitness training classes.  Coming online now is a great line-up of adult fitness classes to fit everyone.  Over the next few weeks you will be hearing about our new fitness coaches as well as the classes they are teaching.  We start in this issue highlighting Liam ‘TAKU’ Bauer!

Liam ‘TAKU’ Bauer is a strength and conditioning coach and fitness consultant.  Since 1988, Liam has been designing comprehensive conditioning programs for all fitness levels.  Liam’s certifications include: NSCA, ACE, YMCA, ACSM, ISCA and others.  Liam is also a certified Sports Performance Coach with USA Weightlifting, a certified Conditioning Specialist and Certified Personal Trainer through the NSPA. His alter-ego ‘Taku’ writes children’s stories.

Liam will be teaching Flexibility for the Inflexible, Weightless Weightlifting, and Body Ball Base Conditioning.  Flexibility for the Inflexible pretty much describes it self, however, it is not just for the inflexible so you bendy people need not be intimidated by the inflexible types in the class.  Weightless Weightlifting is a series of exercises that provide a great workout without the use of heavy weights and machines.  Body Ball Base Conditioning is working out with not one, not two, but, almost 10 exercise balls.  It’s like playing in a ball room for grown ups.  Later in the year we will bring on BlackJack Fitness – one of Liam’s signature workout programs   This is a series of seven exercises done three times (7 X 3 = 21 or BlackJack).

Parallel Adult Fitness Classes   We have scheduled Liam’s classes as part of our Parallel Adult Fitness Class series – fitness classes running simultaneously to Children and Young Adult circus classes.  Look for an * next to classes on the schedule for a Parallel Adult Fitness and Circus class.  This way the whole family can workout at the same time.  You work hard to make sure your kids are healthy and physically fit – it’s your turn to do the same for yourself.  Look for Liam’s classes in the late afternoons-early evenings during the week.

You can find more of Liam’s training expertise on his websites:
