Operations Manager (Full-time + Salary & Benefits) –

Kinetic Arts Center (Oakland, CA) is requesting resumes to fill the new position of Operations Manager.

Kinetic Arts Center creates innovative and dynamic circus culture through exceptional classes, training and performance. Our circus school, training facility, and production house is seeking an Operations Manager who will ensure the continued successful operation and growth of the company on both a daily and long-term basis. Our future Operations Manager will work closely with the Managing Director, Artistic Director, instructional and administrative staff, artists, and community to elevate circus as an art and as a fitness alternative in the San Francisco Bay Area — and beyond!

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Works collaboratively across all departments to ensure the effective and seamless operation across all programs in the company,
  • Manages coordination of interdepartmental calendars and maintains the master facility calendar,
  • Manages the Front of Office sales and marketing efforts.

Skill-sets and experience we are looking for in a qualified candidate include (but not limited to):

  • Multiple-year experience in upper operations management positions, emerging small business and/or education administration,
  • Can work independently and with fellow managers to meet ongoing deadlines and goals,
  • Excellent communication across platforms and when engaging internal and external clients,
  • Staff management and scheduling (general HR and payroll processing experience is a bonus),
  • Understanding of online registration systems and programing (MindBody familiarity is a bonus),
  • Experience updating website content (knowledge of WordPress is a plus),
  • Familiarity with Google and Microsoft products (calendar, Excel, Word),
  • Live production experience would be a huge bonus (but not necessary).

Youth Circus Arts Instructor (Part-time) – Ages range from 18mo-5yrs

Position(s) available immediately. Saturday and/or Sunday availability required.

People with experience in movement coaching (dance, gymnastics, creative play & sensory development, etc) are encouraged to apply. Training is provided.

Youth Circus Arts classes consist of: active warm-up, obstacle course (including balancing, rolling and swinging), and aerial (tissue or trapeze).

Applicant requirements:

  • Several years experience teaching infants, toddlers and young children
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Availability to coach with regularity and reliability
  • Interest in working in a friendly and professional environment that is creative, positive and inclusive.
  • Reliable transportation
  • Able to lift 20 lbs

The following assets are beneficial but not required:

  • Aerial and/or acrobatic skills
  • Clowning/physical theatre, juggling and balancing skills
  • Current CPR/First Aid Certification

Youth Aerial Arts Instructor (Part-time) – Ages range from 6yrs-Teen

Position(s) available immediately. Weekday afternoon and/or weekend availability required.

We are looking for instructors with strong aerial skills who have the ability to teach proper form, technique, creativity and healthy mental/physical sustainability.

Youth Aerial Arts classes consist of: active warm-up (including strength and flexibility training) and focused aerial training and conditioning on apparatus (static and/or vertical).

Applicant requirements:

  • Several years of experience teaching aerial arts (one or more of the following: static trapeze, rope, tissue, lyra, etc)
  • Experience with demonstrating and spotting
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Availability to coach with regularity and reliability
  • Interest in working in a friendly and professional environment that is creative, positive and inclusive.
  • Reliable transportation

The following assets are beneficial but not required:

  • Basic aerial rigging experience
  • Act creation / development experience
  • Basic anatomy and movement training
  • Current CPR/First Aid Certification

Advanced or Specialty Circus Arts Instructor (Part-time) – Ages range Older Teen and Adult

Position(s) available immediately. Weekday afternoon and/or weekend availability required.

We are looking for instructors with intermediate/advanced circus skills who have the ability to teach proper form, technique, creativity and healthy mental/physical sustainability.

We are specifically seeking coaches with expertise in: Aerial Straps, Trapeze, Tissue, Contortion, Hand balancing and Tumbling.

Applicants requirements:

  • Several years of experience teaching within their specialty
  • Experience with demonstrating and spotting
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Availability to coach with regularity and reliability
  • Interest in working in a friendly and professional environment that is creative, positive and inclusive.
  • Reliable transportation

The following assets are beneficial but not required:

  • Basic aerial rigging experience
  • Act creation / development experience
  • Basic anatomy and movement training
  • Current CPR/First Aid Certification
