Fine Arts Instructor (Part-time) – Seasonal / Summer

Our circus is filled with colorful characters and we are looking for an energetic Fine Arts Instructor to add to our already fun-loving team! The person we are seeking is passionate about arts instruction, can engage and excite students, and can effectively delegate and work collaboratively with our camp staff.

This is a part-time, non-benefited position; hourly rate commensurate with experience (up to $25/hour). Anticipated work hours during the Summer 2019 camp season are 11am-2pm. Camp Director

We seek a Camp Director(s) for several weeks during the Summer Camp 2019 season. The hours of the position are Monday – Friday, from 8:30 – 10am, and 2:45 – 4pm. With the help of the Camp Manager, our Camp Director will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Organize end-of-week performance & create the opening group act: Sets the running order, organize rigging changes, and collect and create playlist of act music. Both camps perform together.
  • Be the primary contact for camp coaches, students and parents.
  • Educate campers about expectations, lead warm ups and games.

Sky High Aerial Summer Camp Specialty Coach

These specialty Coaches teach the Sky High Aerial Camp (8-teen). Sky High Aerial Specialty Coaches are responsible for:

  • Leading two 45 minute classes of either a Vertical Apparatus or Acro in the morning (10:00 a.m. – 11:30), and/or lead two 45 minute classes of either Conditioning or Bar Apparatus class in the afternoon (1:15 – 2:45 p.m.).
  • Teaching new skills, choreographing an act for the end-of-week show, and finding music for that act.

Circus Arts Specialty Coach

These Specialty Coaches teach the Circus Arts Camp (6-10). Coaches are responsible for:

  • Leading two 45 minute classes of either Physical Theatre or Stilting in the morning (10:00 a.m. – 11:30), and/or lead two 45 minute classes of either Acro or Aerial class in the afternoon (1:15 – 2:45 p.m.).
  • Teaching new skills, choreographing an act for the end-of-week show, and finding music for that act.

Front Desk Staff (Part-time) – Weekend Mornings

Position(s) available immediately. Saturday and/or Sunday availability required.

The Front Desk staff at Kinetic Arts Center is the first point of contact for clients visiting the space. They welcome clients to Kinetic Arts Center, help coaches and clients with checking students in for class, process transactions to purchase class credits, and keeps track of paperwork and databases compiling student information. The Front Desk staffer is focused, detail-oriented, and friendly. Additionally, they can switch streams quickly to keep track of many things at once, all while being welcoming and accommodating for people visiting Kinetic Arts Center.

The best person for the job would have experience/qualifications in or equivalent to the following:

  • Minimum of one-year administration experience working with multiple levels of management. Experience with MindBody is a plus!
  • Must have excellent communication skills on the phone, email, and in person,
  • Must have excellent time management skills, be highly organized, self-motivated and able to complete tasks with minimal supervision,
  • Must be comfortable working with the public and with children,
  • Administrative, word processing, excel, database, social media experience is recommended (Google Calendar and Groups, Slack, MindBody, MS docs, PC, Windows, etc.)

Youth Circus Arts Instructor (Part-time) – Ages range from 18mo-5yrs

Position(s) available immediately. Saturday and/or Sunday availability required.

People with experience in movement coaching (dance, gymnastics, creative play & sensory development, etc) are encouraged to apply. Training is provided.

Youth Circus Arts classes consist of: active warm-up, obstacle course (including balancing, rolling and swinging), and aerial (tissue or trapeze).

Applicant requirements:

  • Several years experience teaching infants, toddlers and young children
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Availability to coach with regularity and reliability
  • Interest in working in a friendly and professional environment that is creative, positive and inclusive.
  • Reliable transportation
  • Able to lift 20 lbs

The following assets are beneficial but not required:

  • Aerial and/or acrobatic skills
  • Clowning/physical theatre, juggling and balancing skills
  • Current CPR/First Aid Certification

Youth Aerial Arts Instructor (Part-time) – Ages range from 6yrs-Teen

Position(s) available immediately. Weekday afternoon and/or weekend availability required.

We are looking for instructors with strong aerial skills who have the ability to teach proper form, technique, creativity and healthy mental/physical sustainability.

Youth Aerial Arts classes consist of: active warm-up (including strength and flexibility training) and focused aerial training and conditioning on apparatus (static and/or vertical).

Applicant requirements:

  • Several years of experience teaching aerial arts (one or more of the following: static trapeze, rope, tissue, lyra, etc)
  • Experience with demonstrating and spotting
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Availability to coach with regularity and reliability
  • Interest in working in a friendly and professional environment that is creative, positive and inclusive.
  • Reliable transportation

The following assets are beneficial but not required:

  • Basic aerial rigging experience
  • Act creation / development experience
  • Basic anatomy and movement training
  • Current CPR/First Aid Certification

Advanced or Specialty Circus Arts Instructor (Part-time) – Ages range Older Teen and Adult

Position(s) available immediately. Weekday afternoon and/or weekend availability required.

We are looking for instructors with intermediate/advanced circus skills who have the ability to teach proper form, technique, creativity and healthy mental/physical sustainability.

We are specifically seeking coaches with expertise in: Aerial Straps, Trapeze, Tissue, Contortion, Hand balancing and Tumbling.

Applicants requirements:

  • Several years of experience teaching within their specialty
  • Experience with demonstrating and spotting
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Availability to coach with regularity and reliability
  • Interest in working in a friendly and professional environment that is creative, positive and inclusive.
  • Reliable transportation

The following assets are beneficial but not required:

  • Basic aerial rigging experience
  • Act creation / development experience
  • Basic anatomy and movement training
  • Current CPR/First Aid Certification
